Top Ten Tuesday: Book Titles That Would Make Good Band Names

This week I’ve decided to take part in ‘Top Ten Tuesday’ again hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is ‘book titles that would make good band names’, which I thought was a nice, fun and silly topic and just what we need to lighten everyone’s feed with everything’s that going on!

The Chaos Walking by Patrick Ness

Technically ‘the Choas Walking’ is the name for a trilogy by Patrick Ness, but I still think it would be an excellent band name. I imagine it would fit a heavy metal or maybe alternative rock band.

The Power by Naomi Alderman

I think this name could fit a lot of different genres in music but I mainly see it as being part of the alternative scene.

Cinder by Marisa Meyer

Even though I haven’t read this yet (and it’s been on my TBR for years!) I know this would be a great name for a girl band, and I think it would suit most genres including pop! Sidenote: Does anyone else just love these new covers? They’re gorgeous!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I think this is going to be on a lot of people’s lists for this topic, because not only is it a great name for a book (and a great book!) but it could work so well with music – and fit so many different genres! I personally would love to see an alternative band with this name, but I wouldn’t be mad if a pop or Kpop group took it either, I think it works across the spectrum.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt

I can’t get over the idea of an indie or alternative rock band being called ‘The Secret History’ – I think it would be an amazing name for a band like that! I imagine them being very reminiscent of ‘the 1975’ or ‘Catfish and the Bottlemen’.

Circe by Madeline Miller

For this book I’m imagining an all girl band similar to Haim! I think an all girl band working and making music under the name of a powerful figure in Greek mythology would be a power move, and absolutely what the music industry needs.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman

I feel like this a very obvious choice and there might be a band called Scythe already – I wouldn’t be surprised, but this would be a great name for a heavy metal band.

The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed

Again, I think this would be a great name for a girl band – we need more girl bands in music and in our lives! This work really well in the pop genre I think.

Saga by Brian K. Vaughan, art by Fiona Staples

I’m not sure what genre this band would play within, but I like the idea of a band named ‘Saga’ – it has a certain ring to it.

We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson

I feel like this would be a great name for a band who follows the same style as ‘The Arctic Monkeys’ and ‘The Kooks’ – also the book cover would make great album cover artwork!

  2. Great list! Six of Crows is definitely another popular one this week and I totally agree it’d be an awesome band name 😀 Chaos Walking and The Nowhere Girls would also be so good! This was such a fun topic to do lol
