WWW Wednesday is currently hosted by Taking On A World of Words, and asks three simple questions that allow me to chat about what I’m reading, and also my most recent and upcoming reads!

What are you currently reading?

I started ‘Empire of Sand’ by Tasha Suri earlier this week as one of my picks for ‘Asian Readathon’. I’m over 200 pages in and I’m really enjoying the world this is set in and the mythology surrounding the story – it’s not like anything I’ve ever read before so that’s keeping my attention. But at this point in the story I’m starting to feel like it’s beginning to drag, I don’t know when it’s going to get to the main point of the story when it feels like it should be already – the build up is massive. Hopefully it will pick up soon because I want to love this!

I’m currently listening to the audiobook for ‘Yes No Maybe So’ and I have about over 7 hours left. I’m not very far into this so I don’t want to give too much of an opinion on it just yet. So far it’s enjoyable, however I’m not sure I’d enjoy it as much if I was reading it – I suspect I would find it a bit boring without the narration.

I’m still reading ‘This Eternity of Masks and Shadows’ and I haven’t go very far yet – not because it isn’t good! I have a copy of this arc on kindle and I’ve been struggling to read ebooks recently, as during lockdown my screentime has gone up and now reading ebooks hurts my eyes, so I’m getting through this slowly because of that but not because it’s bad.

What have you just finished reading?

I finished ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ by Celeste Ng within two days, and I read three quarters of it in one sitting in one afternoon because I loved it that much. I highly recommend this to everyone who enjoys character driven novels, it’s a fantastic story and I adore the writing. You can read my full review here.

I read ‘Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me’ for ‘Asian Readathon’, and I read it in one sitting. It’s a really easy, enjoyable read you can just spend an afternoon on if you like. I don’t think this is necessarily the best graphic novel I’ve ever read nor a five star read but it’s a good one, and it’s something I do recommend.

What do you plan on reading next?

Realistically I need to start probably a least two of the three of these books this week. I need to at least start ‘Anna K’ for sure as it’s one of my ‘Asian Readathon’ picks and it’s one of the two books I have left for the readathon to start. I also need to read ‘The Dutch House’ by Ann Patchett as this was Waterstone’s ‘Fiction Book of The Month’ pick for May, and since I’m doing a series based on these books for this blog, I need to read and review their May pick this month.

I would like to start the ‘The Stars We Steal’ by Alexa Donne this coming week so I can review it for my ‘Buzzfeed Recommends‘ series, but it’s not something I need to start this week.

I also have a couple of arcs from Netgallery I need to pick up soon!
