This week I’ve decided to take part in ‘Top Ten Tuesday’ again hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is ‘books that give off summer vibes’, some of the books I’ve chosen are ones I’ve read, and some I haven’t but the title or the cover gives off summer vibes.
I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
I’m afraid this is quite an obvious pick, but I think it would have been strange of me not to mention it. I read this years ago and I’m thinking of doing a reread soon because really you have to read this in summer.
Lumberjanes by Noelle Steveson, Grace Ellis and Faith Hicks
Admittedly I haven’t read this graphic novel yet but the cover screams summer to me. It looks like a fun summer camp full of amazing characters and I do want to get around to reading it soon!
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
Really I couldn’t do a list of books that give off summer vibes without mentioning this YA classic. I think nearly everyone has read it now so you’ll know why it reminds me of summer, but for those who haven’t the cover should be enough of a clue as to why!
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I feel like I’m the only person in the world who hasn’t read this yet. Honestly I know nothing about it other than the fact people either love it or hate it, and the cover looks like something you would read on a beach.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
This has admittedly been sitting on my bookcase for a shameful amount of time. I don’t know a lot about this, but the cover looks like a summer evening so I think it belongs on this list.
Paper Towns by John Green
I read this years ago and whilst I didn’t love it, I did happen to read it in the summer and it made me feel like I was going on a summer roadtrip across America.
Life of Pi by Jann Martel
Whilst this is not the happiest summer read you’ll find on this list it’s a great one, and a classic most people should probably read at some point. Whilst this gives off summer vibes it’s not a light read like some of the other’s I’ve read on this list!
Moonlit Books

I had We Were Liars on my list as well. I’ll Give You the Sun is a perfect choice for summer – maybe I’ll pick it up for a summer read since I’ve heard Jandy Nelson is great.

Ooh yes, there are some goodies on this list! I absolutely forgot about some of these. That bright yellow cover for I’ll Give You the Sun was one of the reasons I wanted to get the physical copy 😂 Great post!
