Arc Review: When We Vanished by Alanna Peterson

Andi’s dad left her family not long ago to take part in a secret research project for food corporation Nutrexo, but when she overhears at a party the company has a dangerous research project she instantly fears her dad is part of it. Buzzfeed Recommends Part Five: Dread Nation by Justina Ireland

The book follows Jane McKeene, a young girl who is being trained to fight the undead at one of country’s many combat schools for children of colour. She is training to become an Attendant, a fighter who is paid to protect high class women from not only the undead but other dangers in society, and is the best opportunity available to a girl like her. But Jane doesn’t want that, all she wants is to complete her training at Miss Preston’s before returning home and protecting her family from the undead. But when the families near the school start to go missing, and take her ex, Jackson’s, little sister with them she and her friends are pulled into a conspiracy that spans the country and leaves her fighting for survival against monsters, those dead and alive. Arc Review: Ignite The Sun by Hanna Howard

The story of ‘Ignite The Sun’ follows a young girl Siria who lives in a kingdom constantly shrouded in darkness and can’t even remember seeing the sun. Queen Iyzabel says she shrouded the kingdom in darkness for the people’s protection years ago, but Siria hates the darkness and longs to see the sun that her best friend and his grandfather told stories of. But she’s desperate to please her parents, so she swallows her distaste for darkness and travels into the Queen’s court for a chance to take a place there, however what Siria discovers at the Choosing Ball changes her life and possibly the kingdom forever.
